Award winning Pat Cummings amazingly retells the lovely story of Beauty and the Beast. This captivating and enchanted fairy-tale begins when Beauty's father is imprisoned by a horrifying Beast. Her father is released on only on a promise to return back to the palace for his punishment. The father then returns to the palace with Beauty. However, she begs for the Beast to hold her captive instead. So, the Beast agrees. Beauty was given anything her heart desired- gowns, jewels, good food and even an enchanting mirror that allowed her to see her family back at home. However, Beauty is forbidden to leave the palace. Overtime, she begins to observe that the Beast is actually gentle and kind, and they form an unpredictable bond between each other. Beauty grew to love the fearsome Beast and the spell that was on him was broken. Next, Beauty and the Beast married and she was reunited with her family.
This enchanting retelling of the story Beauty and the Beast is very inspirational and fun to read. It sets a moral that the appearance of a person is just superficial and their beauty really lies within.
